How do you imagine it would be to spend a luxurious night, using the renovated facilities of the Hotel Palace for the first time, staying in one of its sumptuous rooms?
You can now find it under the name The Palace, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s A Luxury Collection, in the epicenter of elegant and cultured Madrid, at number seven Plaza de las Cortes, with its one hundred and twelve years of history. It’s no coincidence that the Palace building has been listed as a protected monument by the General Directorate of Heritage of the Community of Madrid since April 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The renovation carried out by the studios Ruiz Larrea Arquitectos and L\u00e1zaro Rosa-Viol\u00e1n\u2014in which Grupo Las Rosas participated with the quality of its pieces and workmanship\u2014returns the Palace to the past of its opening thanks to the historicist respect imposed on the project. This, of course, combined with the implementation of services and amenities in keeping with the times we live in today. During its renovation, the Palace never closed, as the work was carried out in phases, by floor and common areas. Perhaps the most traumatic phase was the final one, when the main entrance and its stately reception area were renovated, necessitating the creation of a temporary alternative entrance through Plaza de Neptuno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fourteen months of construction preceded the Palace’s inauguration on September 12, 1912. This restoration has now required twenty-four months of work, and ninety million euros, for this project. The main challenge has been the building itself, due to its heritage status. Furthermore, its history is closely linked to the life and society of Madrid and even Spain, but also to the personalities who have lived there and the significant events that have taken place within its walls. \u201cTranslating this historical heritage into a contemporary language has been the most complicated task and required a great deal of study, effort, and respect from all parties involved,\u201d explains the L\u00e1zaro Rosa-Viol\u00e1n studio. Among the parties involved are Archer Hotel Management, the client, Ruiz Larrea Arquitectos (building renovation), PGI (engineering), Artec (lighting), and L\u00e1zaro Rosa-Viol\u00e1n Studio (interior designers). \u201cWe all joined forces to meet the requirements set by Heritage, but also to convey and embody the firm’s high standards.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
